No Taxation Without Representation

Along with "Don't Tread on Me", "No taxation without representation" was just one sentiment in a long line of injustices felt and experienced by Bostonians and Americans across the Colonies.

Various Acts made life very complicated for citizens, especially for many involved in smuggling what the Crown would consider contraband. This, combined with political aspirations of various local leaders, let to movements to move away from the Crown and demand more freedom and autonomy... or outright secession.
